Most Outstanding Recreation Facility

New Zealand Recreation Association Awards

A holistic approach to sustainable design included significant open space landscape regeneration, robust low maintenance materials that naturally weather with time, and full on-site treatment of waste water. The buildings are all naturally lit and ventilated, which helps to reduce overall energy consumption and costs.

Auckland Councils manager of parks, sport and recreation stated that the council were proud to support the community led facility and congratulated all people who had contributed to its success. The building is noted as being one of the lowest maintenance and least tagged facilities of its type.
