As part of the Batch 14 programme we were introduced to the school and their BOT with the brief to create a new ILE classroom block. The topography of the school site naturally divided existing buildings over upper and lower building platforms.  Site master planning positioned new two storey buildings on the lower building platform with the future intent their top storeys could directly link with existing single storey classrooms on the upper building platform.

This project was the first of those two storey buildings where a toilet and lift foyer was located at one end of the building, a central ILE space in the middle and small quiet spaces at the back. Generous balconies and stairs provide opportunities for sheltered outdoor learning.

The classrooms are naturally ventilated with indoor air quality sensors are linked to coloured light display panels to signal when humidity, temperature or carbon dioxide levels are too high.
