As one of the founding signatories to Architects Declare New Zealand, we are committed to a sustainable future for the built environment. We believe that the spaces we spaces we create should invite us in, bring us together, inspire us and leave a positive legacy.
Our architectural services span the entire spectrum of project and design management. From conceptualisation to realisation, we deliver on innovation, sustainability, and strategic alignment. Through meticulous planning, design, detailing, and site observation, we bring fresh ideas and experience to deliver sustainable buildings that withstand the test of time.
Our master planning serves as a living document, guiding and inspiring the ongoing evolution of a development's long-term vision. Our approach begins with a understanding of local communities and contextual intricacies. This includes extensive research, emphasising connectivity, quality amenities, and green spaces, all interwoven to craft liveable environments. We integrate strategies for future adaptability into our designs, making resilience a cornerstone of our plans.
Urban design is a holistic discipline that considers elements of architecture, planning, landscape design, master planning, and civil engineering. Urban design looks at how people interact with and experience public spaces, including roads and streets, parks, groups of buildings, neighbourhoods, and entire towns. We have two qualified Urban Designers at Pacific Environments, both with the Master of Urban Design Degree from the University of Auckland Our Urban Designers are also experienced registered architects, who can bring practical experience based on trained spatial thinking to the design process.
Urban design professional services include:
All our work is done using ArchiCAD software and is fully BIM capability. The concept B&L will be completed in 3D on a 3D model of the site, if the survey file is ready at this stage. We use high level render software for 3D imaging, and an in-office VR suite. The VR tools are very helpful in analysing the design of complex sites.
Preliminary design may also be known as pre-design or the ideation stage of architectural creation, and is typically created to form the basis of a design team’s ideas.
The initial project brief is reviewed and adjusted as necessary. Meetings continue with clients and Separate Consultants, to set work-in-progress drawing issues for coordination purposes and ensure scope of services align across the project team. Preparation of site-specific detailed design drawings and details, specification, and schedules are completed.
As Registered Architects we are very familiar with and experienced in Contract Observation and Contract Administration. This allows us to fulfil any site role including visual checks on building quality. All staff who attend site meetings have current SiteSafe Consultant certificates and training. Our office has a comprehensive Health and Safety in the Workplace plan which provides additional guidance, training, and procedures to this. All staff who attend building sites must wear appropriate PPE.
