This is one of the first projects for Housing New Zealand Roskill South Development.  

The 12 existing HNZ properties on Freeland Avenue, Playfair Road and Sanft Avenue were comprehensively designed to provide 45 social housing at higher density with quality supporting outdoor amenity spaces.  The redevelopment comprised of two-bedroom duplexes, three-bedroom and four-bedroom freestanding or duplexes with garages.  The design principles were to maximise northern orientation, daylight, addressing the street and the adjacent Freeland Reserve by maximising outlook from the dwellings and communal accessways.  This gives both good visual outlook amenity to the smaller dwellings, while providing CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) for the wider community.


Pacific Environments are proud to have been the architects  for these quality social housings (up to Resource Consent phase) that provides a sense of identity and place for both the residents and the Roskill community.  We were excited to see the houses well under construction and that some of these are already ready for tenants to move into!
