Using urban design principles that enhance safety and security in the local community, this medium density design maximises solar access, provides a mixture of tenure and a mix of age groups while retaining communal green space and gardens. The development consists of over 30 houses that vary from 5 bedroom large family units to 2 bedroom accessible units for the elderly. There will also be a mix of tenure with some units being sold as 'affordable homes'. The scheme replaces existing houses, that have reached the end of their useful lives, and provides a development with a significantly higher density without compromising privacy, security or access to gardens and communal facilities.
