4 - hibiscus coast house Orewa, Auckland
A 17 year old beach-front home where huge opportunities of relaxed seaside living while responding to adverse exposed conditions were not fully realised.
Outcome: The planned concept allowed the built form, internal and external planning to benefit from the lovely open coastal aspect, enjoying the views & sun in all conditions. It is intended as a permanent ‘bach/retreat’ of grand proportions, almost resort living style where there iare various levels of sun shading built into the façade to suit the conditions. The redesigned living spaces and easy internal planning allowed the clients to open up to the laidback outdoor living, terraces and pool. A poolside sunken ‘tiki-bar’ is the focus across the pool. The re-designed master suite and double height spaces added a glamorous air to an unsurpassed site.
